  • Fellows trained Fellowship director, UAB Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship, whose alumni list includes five graduates from 2021 to 202513

Contributions

His research includes medical therapy for overactive bladder in women and simulation-based teaching of pelvic anatomy.

  • Tolterodine and vaginal estradiol for overactive bladder (2016). Led a randomized trial in 58 women comparing extended-release tolterodine with intravaginal estradiol cream; symptom bother improved within both groups at 12 weeks without a difference between them, and combined therapy brought further improvement at 24 and 52 weeks.4
  • Virtual reality pelvic anatomy model (2019). Led a randomized trial in 31 obstetrics and gynecology residents; adding a virtual reality anatomic model to a traditional curriculum did not raise knowledge scores more than the traditional curriculum alone, though most residents reported that it improved their understanding.5
