Her cited work comes from randomized trials of perioperative care in the UMass urogynecology division, on phenazopyridine and voiding after sling and prolapse surgery and on bowel function after prolapse repair. She also works on obstetric fistula repair in Rwanda and Jamaica.1345
- Phenazopyridine and voiding after midurethral sling (2018). Coauthored the EPIPhANy randomized trial of 88 women having a retropubic midurethral sling, in which preoperative oral phenazopyridine 200 mg did not lower the rate of failed voiding trials (27% vs 21% without it).3
- Preoperative fiber before prolapse surgery (2022). Coauthored a randomized trial of 71 analyzed patients in which a week of psyllium before prolapse surgery did not shorten the time to first bowel movement (66.5 vs 68.3 hours).4
